Have you ever just felt as if you wanted to quit?  You have just had enough and can’t take it one more second?  Well, yesterday was one of those days.  And yet, in the middle of it all, God stilled me enough to hear Him say, “Don’t quit, this is what I want you to be doing.”

take it

It all started over the weekend.  I got a ton of encouragement for something I have been doing for some women.  Even from a truly unexpected source.  I took note.  And it has gotten me through to this point.  It helped me hear God’s still small voice in the middle of the uproar yesterday.

And then on Sunday, our pastor had a lot to say about worship.  When you’re stuck, when you’re beat up, when you don’t know how to proceed, worship.  It stops the rolling of the unhelpful thoughts, the unproductive thoughts that just keep you going round and round and making yourself dizzy.

So this THING happened.  It’s with someone I truly love.  The problem is communication styles – two totally opposite ones.  Ones that when you talk, every time there is miscommunication and frustration and hurt.  It’s awful.  And it only comes around every once in a while.  For the most part everything is running smoothly.  And every time this happens I don’t expect it to happen again, I think it’s over and we’re done with this nonsense.

So back to this Thing.  Yesterday, I felt ganged up on.  I felt attacked.  I feel like I’m doing my “job” to the best I can do it.  And I feel as though God has put me in this position for a reason. And when things are done through texts, it gets a whole nother spin.  Things can be misunderstood, misinterpreted and just get out of hand.  I’m sure that’s part of this entire thingie.

Now I KNOW, everyone out there has had something like this happen to them at least once in their lifetime… everyone of you ladies can totally relate to what I’m saying.  You’ve done something good for someone and been attacked, you’ve helped out only to have someone come at you complaining… You feel ganged up on or unappreciated.  You feel as if you want to quit.  Just like me.

So, where does the worship part come in, you ask?  I’m so glad you did!  LOL  This morning, I couldn’t even get through a page of my bible study… I was so upset.  So I remembered what pastor had said yesterday about worship… I turned on my IPad and just went with it.  I usually have it set to shuffle which means a random song comes up next.  I figure God knows what song I need to hear next, what praise He wants to hear from me, you know, that kind of thing. And Girls, I’m telling you God spoke to me through song!

There were some random first songs… then He really got down to business!  He hit me with Overcomer by Mandisa…

Everybody’s been down
Hit the bottom, hit the ground
Ooh, you’re not alone
Just take a breath, don’t forget
Hang on to His promises
He wants You to know

Chorus:  You’re an overcomer
Stay in the fight ‘til the final round
You’re not going under
‘Cause God is holding you right now
You might be down for a moment
Feeling like it’s hopeless
That’s when He reminds You
That you’re an overcomer
You’re an overcomer

He reminded me that He is guiding me… obviously because He gave me all that encouragement that started over the weekend, before I even had a clue!

And then He gave me Come Together by Third Day, (not to be confused with Aerosmith)

You can all call me crazy
For the things that I might say
You can laugh all you want to
I know there will come a day
When we all will come together
And learn to set aside our hate
If we could learn to love our neighbors
Just like we would love ourselves
We’ve got to come together
‘Cause in the end we can make it – alright
We’ve got to brave the weather
Through all of the storms
We’ve got to come together
‘Cause in the end we can make it – alright
We’ve got to learn to love
You can call me a dreamer
But these dreams will come true
Yes, I am a firm believer
In the things that we can do
If we would all just come together
And let the Lord lead our way
There is nothing that we can’t do
There is nothing we can’t face
I know that there will come a day
When the Lord will call His own away
To a place that He has made for all of us
But until the day of His return
There’s a lesson that we’ve got to learn
We are brothers and we’re sisters
We are one

How’s that for some hard hitting.  God KNOWS about our communication problems.  He knows there is a good solution.  And He told me that He’s handling it…

“The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be Still (quiet).”Exodus 14:14

Now if you can’t tell by my blogs, I am a talker… so being quiet or being still is NOT easy for me!  But hey, He’s the One telling me…  And He’ll tell you too!  Try some worship today!  I’ll leave you with Mandisa… (I tried to put in Michael W Smith, Agnus Dei  (Lamb of God) like five times and no matter how hard I tried, it always came up Mandisa…  Obviously He’s leading you today as well!  Just take the time to play it.  Trust me…

35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”  John 13:35

Love you ALL!  Linda  XOXO
