I just read this story about silver medalist at the Rio 2016 Olympics, Aly Raisman.  Way to go, Girl! And there’s a quote from her stating,” I didn’t always think I was good enough!”.

How many times have we felt this way?  It’s one of the hardest things I combat on a daily basis. I learned over and over again from my childhood and my many mistakes as an adult that very lesson; I am not good enough.  And I’m sure a lot of people reading this feel exactly the same way.

Truth be told, none of us are “good enough”.  The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that ALL have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.  And in Romans 3:10 it says there is NONE righteous; not even one.  Technically if we were “good enough”, we wouldn’t need Jesus. And we need to stay dependent on God and not become full of ourselves.

not one

But here’s the thing!  Jesus came so that we could be righteous and “good enough”.  All of our mistakes are no washing clean in Jesus’ precious blood!

Here’s what the Bible has to say about that!  “ He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21.  and in 1 Corinthians 1:7b-8, “Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  And “You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LordAnd a royal diadem in the hand of your God.” Psalm 62:3. (So awesome, I have to put a picture of that one…

diadem

We are also God’s beloved children.  It says in John chapter 1, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of  blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”  So we now have God’s royal blood flowing through our veins.  To me this is so exciting!   Blood in itself is another topic.  Things like generational curses and health come to mind… but back we go to today’s post.

14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. 15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, 16 ‘This is the covenant that I will make with them; After those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws upon their heartAnd on their mind I will write them,’ He then says17 ‘And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Hebrews 10:14-17

There are so many scriptures about how we, after putting our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, are perfect, holy and blameless.  We are beautiful in His sight and He sees our sin no more.

Basically YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH!

So the next time those thoughts from your mortal enemy come to tell you that you’re not good enough, start quoting scripture to him.  Let Him know that you know exactly who you are in Jesus!  Resist the devil and He will flee from you!
