Let’s begin with this, shall we?

steps

I was never one to write a business plan.  Oh, I’ve written a few, but then never followed them through to the letter.  They just never seemed to get me anywhere.  And you know, life happens and interrupts the best laid plans.

So imagine my surprise when God had me watch this video about detailed goal writing.  I can always learn something from a good video.  Why not, I thought?  I could use one or two of the things.  And I always took to heart that verse that says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” – Proverbs 19:21  I guess I was under the impression that everything I planned would fall through the cracks, so to speak.  But little did I know.

So you know exactly what I’m about to say; after that video, I was pumped up!  I took such good notes that I kept having to stop the video and a half-hour video turned into nearly an hour. And when I was done, the goals came fast and easy.

SO then I was thinking that I needed a planner to keep track of the steps I needed to do.  That was part of the goal video, keeping track to keep you motivated. And lo and behold the very next day, what should come across my radar but a blog about the twelve best planners of 2018.  Girls, I think God is guiding my steps, what do you think?

So, naturally, I ordered planners; I ordered two because I believe I need one on the wall to see, and one to write down my daily steps in detail.  And when did they come?  The very first day we were back from up north.

If you knew me, you’d know that the momentum is important.  I joke around about my housekeeping and cleaning out.  It’s very rare that I get “in the mood” for that.  So when I do, you can’t break my momentum or else I stop and never get started again.  Until the next time which may be the next week, or even further out that that. Ya, just not a neat freak unfortunately.

But like I said in a previous blog, this stuff is important!  This stuff can save lives or undo chains in Jesus’ mighty and powerful name.  And I’ve been thinking for quite a while, since last year actually, that I need to get real and treat this as if it were my job.  And it is..

A lot of you may or may not know my story, but I was shown nearly 20 years ago, that I was to speak.  It’s the first thing God showed me.  So when the net step occurred, it really had to be a God thing.

I was invited to a Speakers Convention for three days – get this – for free!  And at this conference I am to get up and speak for five minutes.  I will be taped and given the tape.  I will be photographed and given the photos of me speaking.  And I will be interviewed on camera and given a tape of that as well.

For those of you who don’t know, these things are necessary to send out packages requesting to speak at a church or organization.  Something I had told God would have to be free or almost free.  So after this conference, I will have the necessary tools to put myself out there.  I guess it’s time, I guess God said so.

And after all this, God had me look back over my life to see just how He had placed these things in my heart and in my mind so that when it was His time, I would be ready. Just a quick review; my mom read to me each and every night when I was little.  And I decided that I could write like that.  HA!  No I couldn’t.  But I had an elementary school teacher who valued my writing.  So much so, that I would write stories and turn them in for extra credit.  And then early in my career as an office worker, various places I worked would send me to seminars.  And when I was there, I knew I could be a presenter.  That was right up my alley, speaking in front of people.  And then came the speaking dream, like twenty years ago.  So much waiting – another thing I am not good at. Which led to Him telling me that if I write IT, the speaking would come.  And I’ve been trying to write it now for about six years.  Many drafts later… I think I’m finally on “the one”.  I just have to finish it.

That’s where my goals and steps come in.  And the momentum.  It would seem that God has me by the hand and is leading me in my planning.

So if you think God has something that’s just over your head big to do, just know, that He guides you and directs you in each and every step to get exactly where He wants you to be.  He will make you ready for IT.  Be encouraged by my story and seek Him out each and every step of the way.  God’s plan is always better.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9

“11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
